The W&M D.C. Summer Institutes are six credit programs run by the College in the W&M Washington Office. For the National Security Institute, students take two weeks of class on national security policy, taught by Professor Elizabeth Grimm Arsenault, and then intern for 10 weeks with D.C. think tanks and government agencies like The Stimson Center and the Department of Justice. Among many speakers last summer were Dan Byman, Director of Research and Senior Fellow, The Brookings Institute, and Sheba Crocker from the U.S. Department of State.
