Heidi Durrow is the author of "The Girl Who Fell from the Sky" (Algonquin Books) chosen by Barbara Kingsolver for the 2008 Bellweather Prize for Literature of Social Change. The daughter of a Danish mother and a black G.I., she is able to relate closely to her book. The Miami Herald says: "Durrow's powerful novel is poised to take a place among classics of the American experience." Her book is on the L.A. Times bestseller list.
