The William & Mary Honor Code: An Overview of Policies, Procedures, and Recent Changes
Presenters: Student Members of the Honor Council, Dave Gilbert, Office of Student Conduct, and Clay Clemens, Faculty Chair of the Honors System Advisory Committee

William & Mary's Honor Code, the oldest in the nation, has continued to evolve over the years, including significant changes in 2013. Our presenters will present a basic outline of the Honor Code, including recent changes that provide faculty with more autonomy to address issues in the classroom. Presenters also will:
Suggest techniques and suggestions for creating and maintaining a climate of honor in the classroom;
Provide advice regarding preventing and addressing honor violations, and what faculty may and should do; and
Present for discussion research related to academic misconduct and case studies based on real situations that have occurred at the College.
