Dr. Gill-Gurtan is Visiting Instructor of Music and Ethnomusicology and 2010-11 Director of W&M Middle Eastern Music Ensemble. Her dissertation is on gender subjectivities, melancholy, and Ottoman-Turkish classical music. She would like to give a talk/discussion on gender and affect in cultural practices.

The Women's Studies and Africana Studies programs jointly sponsor a series of brown bag talks by faculty and students in Morton 314, the Margaret Gove Women's Studies Seminar Room, at noon on Wednesdays.
