Blackboard Basics Class -- May 21 to June 18
IT will hold a 5 session Blackboard Basics class this summer. Sessions will be held every Thursday at 2pm, starting on May 21 to ensure your classes are ready for summer term S1. Seating is limited register at: {{https://forms.wm.edu/20312}} Walk-ins will be accommodated as space allows.

Session 1: Create and customize your course
1. Blackboard Course generator
2. Navigation and Naming (a guided tour)
3. Change course color scheme & name
4. Upload syllabus
5. Add Content Areas

Session 2: Add Content to your Course
1. Create links to articles, videos, and images
2. Post an announcement
3. Send out a group email
4. Request e-reserves
*copy tests and content areas from other courses
Session 3: Assignments
1. Create assignments
2. Use SafeAssign
3. Create graded blogs and journals
4. Create a class wiki
5. Create rubrics
Session 4: Tests
1. Create tests
2. Test Options & Testing Exceptions
3. Test question types
4. Grade tests
5. Edit tests before and after the test is given
Session 5: Grade Center
1. Organize the Grade Center
2. Create a column for activities outside of Blackboard
3. Show and Hide grades
4. Create a custom category
5. Have Blackboard calculate a final grade/Create a Calculated Column
6. Download the GradeCenter
