Dr. Dhingra will deliver a lecture as part of India Initiative's lecture series, "The Indian Subcontinent and the New Global Order."

Pawan Dhingra (Ph.D. sociology, Cornell University) is Museum Curator for the Smithsonian Smithsonian Indian American Heritage Project. He also is Associate Professor at Oberlin College. His publications include the award-winning Managing Multicultural Lives: Asian American Professionals and the Challenge of Multiple Identities (Stanford University Press, 2007) and numerous articles on race, small-business ownership, identity, immigrant adaptation, geography, religion and
Asian American studies. His new book, Life Behind the Lobby: Indian
American Motel Owners and the American Dream (Stanford University
Press) is forthcoming April 2012.
