University of Virginia Professor Corinne T. Field will be presenting a paper entitled "The Mother of the Race and Modern Girls: Intersections of Racial and Generational Conflict in the US Women's Rights Movement, 1870-1920." Professor Field is the author of The Struggle for Equal Adulthood: Gender, Race, Age, and the Fight for Citizenship in Antebellum America as well as co-editor of Age in America: The Colonial Era to the Present. Following her presentation, Professor Field has agreed to also participate in a type of Historian's Craft, where graduate students can ask questions regarding methodology or the use of age as a category of analysis.
