[PAST EVENT] "Alt-Ac? Careers Panel

The panelists will provide practical career advice. For example: What kinds of qualities and skills are most desirable in job candidates from a humanities background? What are common interview questions in your field? What are the common mistakes applicants make? How can you make a resume/CV stand out? And bring your own questions and concerns! Following the panel, light refreshments will be served, allowing for the opportunity to network with the panelists and talk to them 1-on-1.
The panelists are:
Ronald L. Hurst, Vice President of Collections, Conservation, and Museums and Chief Curator at Colonial Williamsburg. Ron has an MA in History from William & Mary and years of experience in the museum field.
Elizabeth Bell, Staff Archaeologist at the Center for the Environmental Management of Military Lands. She formerly worked at W&M?s Center for Archaeological Research. Beth has an MA in Anthropology from the University of South Carolina-Columbia.
Seth Feman, Curator of Exhibitions & Photography at the Chrysler Museum of Art. Seth has an MA and is currently ABD in American Studies at William & Mary. He previously worked in museum education at the Chrysler and at the Smithsonian Museum of American Art.
Martha Howard, Director of Conferences and Communications at the Omohundro Institute. Martha has a MA in Art History from the University of Chicago. Martha also has previous experience working as a writer and in higher education.
Dr. Michael Butler, Adjunct Assistant Professor of History at William & Mary. Professor Butler has thirty years of experience working in Foreign Service for the U.S. State Department and can speak about government positions.
This event is a collaboration between the Cohen Career Center and the A&S Graduate Center.
