Interested in ensuring your students reach their full potential through their undergraduate research experiences? Faculty and graduate students, please join WMSURE co-directors Anne Charity Hudley and Cheryl Dickter and WMSURE graduate assistant Hannah Franz, as they share strategies from their new book The Indispensable Guide to Undergraduate Research: Success in and Beyond College. The book is the first research-based guide that directly advises first- and second-year college students, with a focus on the needs and interests of students who are underrepresented in the academy. The authors will discuss ways to teach students how they can benefit from research experiences, what their professors do and how to work with them, how research time management and writing are different from time management and writing in high school, and how to address challenges faced by underrepresented students.
