[PAST EVENT] WMSURE The Rhetoric of Hate with Professor Charity-Hudley
The rhetoric of hate does social, emotional, and mental damage. Research has shown that the stress from listening to hateful rhetoric has a direct impact on mental and physical health. Free speech isn?t the issue. The power dynamic that ensues when listeners feel they have no voice to confront the speech is. Prof. Charity Hudley will talk about the rhetoric of hate and share ways to confront racist communication, both in spoken and written form.
During the The Rhetoric of Hate, Professor Charity-Hudley will also give sociolinguistic context for the discourse of the discussion with President Reveley.
