- Registration/RSVP
Virtual Virginia, a program of the Virginia Department of Education, offers online courses to students in all 132 districts across Virginia. This year, Virtual Virginia will also offer a Math & Science outreach program for secondary public school teachers across the Commonwealth. The program intends to facilitate a professional learning community of Math and Science educators across the state of Virginia. Virtual Virginia administrators (Dr. Brian Mott, Executive Director, and Tom Landon, Director of Instruction) will be visiting the School of Education to offer an informational session on their work across the state, as well their upcoming outreach program for Math & Science teachers. All pre-service teachers, graduate students, and faculty and staff who are interested in learning more about Virtual Virginia are invited to attend.
Virtual Virginia's Mission Statement
"Virtual Virginia is a program of the Virginia Department of Education serving students in Virginia middle and high schools by providing flexible options for the diverse educational needs of students and their families. The program offers equal access to online courses for students who might not be able to take Advanced Placement, world language, core academic, and elective courses due to the lack of a highly-qualified instructor, too few students to offer the course, or scheduling conflicts within the school."
This session is free and open to all who are interested. However, please express your interest by RSVPing so that we can ensure everyone has a seat.
