VIMS - Catlett-Burruss Research and Education Lab
Salt marshes are muddy, coastal areas of land that are at least partially flooded and drained each day by salt water that is brought in by the tides. Marshes are a critical habitat for many species of plants and animals throughout the Bay watershed, and they provide important benefits for humans as well! Join students from the Williamsburg Montessori School for marsh and plant-related activities, demos, and crafts. VIMS Ph.D. student Amanda Knobloch will be sharing information about her research regarding marsh carbon storage, and how marshes can help combat human impacts on the Bay!
