This season will see a new production that incorporates movement, text, sound/music, spectacle and site. On the anniversary of 100 years of co-education at the university, William & Mary Theatre faculty and students will develop a site-specific theatre performance at the Wren Building, exploring the layered histories of this space, with a focus on contemporary students looking back at the entrance of the first cohort of women at the college 1918-1919. Students will be creating original work in response to site, historical sources (photos, paintings, diaries, interviews, newspaper articles, sounds, music, play fragments etc.), and their personal and collective reflections.
