About Dr. DeHaven
Dr. Mark DeHaven has been building community health improvement and community-based research capacity in the United States and globally for more than two decades. His work has been funded by four different institutes and centers at the National Institutes of Health, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, American Center Society, American Heart Association, and numerous other funding agencies. In his most recent work, Dr. DeHaven has developed a successful model for integrating the university and community known as CommUniversity, and transitioned this approach into a place-based initiative (PBI) with 55 community partner organizations.
