[PAST EVENT] CGA Speaker Series: GIS Applications & Analysis to Inform Community & Landscape Wildfire Resilience
Location
Virtual Presentation on ZoomAccess & Features
- Registration/RSVP
This talk will introduce students to some GIS applications relevant to wildland fire. GIS analysis serves as an essential tool to characterize fire hazard, risk, and potential fire behavior at scales ranging from large landscapes down to individual properties. Additionally, GIS analysis informs collaboration on how and where to prioritize landscape scale treatments for wildfire resiliency across federal, state, Tribal, and private ownerships. Finally, GIS plays a critical role in a community’s wildfire response and recovery.
