[PAST EVENT] W&M Charlottesville-Highlands - Tour of the UVA Academical Village and Memorial to Enslaved Laborers

Join fellow members of the W&M community in Charlottesville for an educational opportunity to learn more about the construction of the University of Virginia, with an emphasis on the role of enslaved laborers. Louis Nelson '90, vice provost for academic outreach and professor of architectural history at the University of Virginia, will lead a tour of the Academical Village that concludes at the Memorial to Enslaved Laborers. The tour will be followed by an optional meetup at the rooftop bar of the Graduate Charlottesville hotel for a chance to debrief, process emotions from the tour and socialize with fellow alumni, parents, family and friends. Light appetizers and one drink will be provided.
