The talk features activists in China who are engaged in non-contentious social action at the juncture when social media has gone mainstream.

Kristian Petersen is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Philosophy & Religious Studies at Old Dominion University. He is currently working on a monograph entitled The Cinematic Lives of Muslims.
Dr Ayca Alemdaroglu is currently Associate Director of Keyman Modern Turkish Studies Program at Buffett Institute for Global Studies, Northwestern University. She also teaches in Middle East and North African Studies in this institution.
