Wright is Assistant Professor of Anthropology/Asian and Middle Eastern Studies at W&M. Her talk, ?Building an Oilrig," is based on ethnographic work she conducted in 2010 and 2011 at an oil rig construction site in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
