Join us on Tuesday, April 27 at 5pm or Thursday, April 29 at 12pm ET as The Mason School of Business presents a workshop on “Acknowledging Unconscious Bias and Becoming an Inclusive Leader.” Led by PwC Diversity & Inclusion professionals, this interactive workshop will help participants recognize unconscious biases and microaggressions, and take action to become more inclusive leaders. As students, faculty and staff, we work in a variety of workplaces, lead diverse teams of people with differing backgrounds and experiences, and provide products and services to a diverse group of consumers. Understanding people outside of our own demographic groups is essential to success in the business world. While we may not be able to completely understand the experiences of others, we can take steps to understand how our own unconscious biases shape the way we initially interpret actions and interact with others. We must acknowledge and overcome the unconscious biases learned throughout our lives, and be intentional about becoming inclusive leaders to create supportive and inclusive environments where everyone can contribute fully.
