POSTPONED. Due to low registration, we will set a new date for this workshop in April. The workshop will be held via Zoom at that time.
"What they don't tell you on the website for PhD programs."
This workshop will help you think about ways to enhance your personhood while in graduate school, not just your C.V. Join American Studies PhD Student Kelsey Smoot (they/he) for this facilitated workshop on navigating the nuances of graduate studies while nurturing your full self. Kelsey will share about their co-curricular creative scholarship, university service and engagement, maintaining a balance between school and social life, and how he has forged a nontraditional path through doctoral training. They will also facilitate activities and writing exercises designed to encourage workshop participants to think broadly about the potential for academic work to be enhanced by personal development.
Hosted by the A&S Graduate Center. All A&S and VIMS graduate students are welcome. In person only.
Sandwiches provided for those who preregister! We'll provide a build-your-own-sandwich bar. Bring your own drink.
