Melanie's extensive career, which began at the State Water Control Board in 1986, has spanned various roles within DEQ and beyond. She has served as Director of Enforcement, Assistant Air Division Director, special assistant to the Secretary of Natural Resources, and more.
Melanie's journey showcases the diverse and impactful career opportunities within the environmental field. During her time as Virginia Director of the Chesapeake Bay Commission and her years practicing environmental law, Melanie gained valuable insights into environmental policy and advocacy.
