[PAST EVENT] Eternal Juan Ramon Jiminez: A Concert by Tomas Lozano
November 7, 2014
8pm - 10pm
Vocalist, instrumentalist, and composer Tomas Lozano lends his artistry to Spanish poet and 1956 Nobel Prize Laureate in Literature, Juan Ramon Jimenez whose verses inspired Lozano to compose original melodies and give voice to the poetry turned lyrics. Each of the masterfully crafted songs fuses Lozano's outstanding voice and flamenco guitar with viola da gamba played by Erica Rubis. This concert, Eternal Juan Ramon Jimenez, features different periods in the poetic trajectory of one of the best loved and most homespun Spanish poets of all time.
This performance is co-sponsored by the Embassy of Spain in Washington DC, the Department of Music, the Charles Center, and the Reves Center for International Studies.
