Abstract: Representation theory of finite groups has applications in quantum physics, modern chemistry, number theory and cryptography, and even voting theory. In this talk, I will discuss some results from representation theory that help us to understand the structure of finite groups. In particular, I will present my dissertation findings on the non-abelian composition factors of m-rational groups.
