Emerging Scholars Series Lecture:

"The Molecular Choreography of Aerosol Chromophores"
Jacob Blackshaw, Chemistry master's student

Many of our everyday activities, such as the burning of fuel, contribute to the spreading of brown carbon aerosols yet we know little about their influence on the world. As molecules within brown carbon aerosols fragment, the chemical makeup of the atmosphere is affected leading to the altering of the earth?s climate. Join Jacob Blackshaw (graduate student in Chemistry at W&M) to hear about the chemical makeup of these aerosols and their potentially harmful polluting impact. Learn why it?s imperative we rapidly develop our understanding of them.

Free & open to the community; refreshments to follow.

The Emerging Scholars Series is presented through partnership between the A&S Graduate Center and the Williamsburg Regional Library.
