November 13-17, 2023 is the fourth annual William & Mary Education Week. We take this opportunity to celebrate the people, projects and ideas that are driving the future of education. We'll be highlighting alumni teachers and educational leaders, as well as the students who will become the next generation of educators. This year, we're offering a range of in-person and virtual opportunities to connect and learn with fellow educators.
Our 2023 theme is Safe, Strong & Just Institutions.
Highlights include:
- We're encouraging students, faculty and staff to Take Ten during a series of afternoon activities designed to de-stress and make connections. We are partnering with the Muscarelle Museum and William & Mary Health and Wellness for art activities as well as an Afternoon Recess with Dean Robert Knoeppel.
- On Tuesday afternoon, learn about the healing power of laughter with Dr. Coralis Solomon, online clinical associate professor.
- Dr. Janise Parker, associate professor of School Psychology, will present her research with the Bray School Lab on broader ideology surrounding the institution of slavery/social oppression to contemporary issues in K-12 schools during our Faculty Research Brown Bag Talk.
- On Wednesday evening, Professor Joan Gavaler and students from the W&M Dance Program will share the process of learning Acro Yoga as a way to think about healthy and supportive communication in an interactive and engaging presentation.
