[PAST EVENT] Faculty Research Brown Bag: Gene Roche
Gene Roche will present on concrete methods to individualize and deepen engagement in core classes by using authentic learning projects. Based primarily on adult learning theory, his work also draws heavily on Ernest Boyer's model of expanding our definition of scholarship developed in the 1990 book "Scholarship Reconsidered." This project is part of a larger Center for Innovation in Learning Design fellowship topic: Self-Directed Professional Learning: Personal Productivity and Innovation in an Age of Smart(er) Machines.
Gene Roche joined the faculty of the School of Education as a full-time executive professor in 2014. Previously he served as Director of Academic Information Services and Director of University E-Learning Initiatives at William & Mary and as Director of Career Services at Hamilton College in upstate New York. His doctorate is from Syracuse University in Adult Education.
