[PAST EVENT] International Careers Week: "OPT" Optional Practical Training Alumni Panel (Hybrid)

Finding employment during the Optional Practical Training (OPT) work authorization period can be challenging and maybe a little scary. Meet some international alumni who not only navigated the process but also found employment in the field they wanted. For students who are interested, the Office of International Students, Scholars & Programs (ISSP) is hosting a mini workshop on how to apply for OPT before the panel.

Yi Hao
In her role as Assistant Director of Professional Development in the Office of Graduate and Postdoctoral Affairs, Dr. Yi Hao supports the Office and Ph.D. Plus through program development, communications, data analysis, and evaluation. Yi works closely with university partners to meet the professional needs of graduate students and postdocs on Grounds. Prior to joining UVA, Yi received her Ph.D.('19) in Higher Education Administration from William & Mary, focusing on graduate education and leadership development.
Maria Diamanti
Maria Diamanti is originally from Greece and moved to the US to pursue her education. Maria received her MBA from William & Mary in 2021 and has been working at NielsenIQ ever since as a Customer Success Associate Manager, with Nestle being her main client.
Fei Wang '22
Fei Wang ’22 is a Junior Program Manager on AidData's Chinese Development Finance Program. She supports the team in tracking underreported financial flows by conducting data quality assurance, managing research assistants, and contributing to data analysis.
Prior to joining AidData, Fei worked on AidData's Tracking Underreported Financial Flows (TUFF) team as a student Research Assistant and a Management Research Assistant. She holds a BA in Government and Economics from William & Mary. Students can attend in person or virtually.
