DataCraft is an art show that visually explores the intersection of art and science. At this event, pieces of art produced in the process of scientific inquiry on the W&M campus will be on display at the Small Hall Makerspace (Rm. 143) on Thursday, September 15th 2016 at 7pm. This event welcomes all majors to submit any artistic example of the interplay between art and science.

Submissions will be open from now through Friday, August 19th 2016.

Criteria for submission is broad: your piece only has to fall into one of three categories:

1. Big science (macroscopic)
2. Small science (microscopic)
3. Data presentation (waveforms, plots, etc.)

You have the option to enter your piece into the DataCraft 2016 contest, in which a panel of judges will select the top three pieces based on aesthetic creativity and scientific merit. The winners will be awarded and recognized at the event. The contest also includes a people?s choice selection, in which the entered pieces will be showcased on the event page in the week leading up to the show, and the three pieces with the most likes will be awarded and recognized at the event.

Send digital pieces to datacraft2016@gmail.com, or contact this address to arrange your preferred means of display for non-digital pieces. Please indicate if you would like to take part in the contest. Contest participation is optional.
