The Institute of Bill of Rights Law launched the Scalia-Ginsburg Collegiality Speaker Series in fall 2022. The series brings together pairs of advocates, judges, and legal scholars who share a warm friendship even if they do not always see the law in the same way. Inspired by the well-known friendship between the Justices for which it is named, the hope of the series is to explore tools for collegiality in a legal world that is becoming deeply divided on partisan lines.


In the third installment of the IBRL’s Scalia Ginsburg collegiality series, Marin K. Levy of Duke University Law School and Kannon K. Shanmugam of Paul|Weiss will share insight on how to maintain friendships with those on the other side of the political aisle in addition to offering thoughts on what it means to be an “institutionalist.”
