[PAST EVENT] SIPS Lunch Talk with Andrew Riley '03:The Impact of Patent Trials at the USPTO
March 30, 2015
12:50pm - 1:50pm
Please join SIPS for a talk with Andrew Riley '03, Partner at Finnegan in Washington, D.C.
Description: The America Invents Act created new post-grant review procedures for issued U.S. patents starting in September 2012. These patent trials have dramatically changed patent litigation for the patent owner and alleged infringers. In turn, these patent trials created opportunities and pitfalls for patent attorneys and other intellectual property (IP) practitioners. This lecture will provide an overview of these new patent trials, address how these trials continue to alter patent litigation strategy, discuss their impact on the practice of patent law, and identify opportunities for young attorneys looking ahead to a career in IP.
When/Where: Monday, Mar. 30 at 12:50 pm in Law School, Room 133. Lunch Provided.
