About our guest speaker-

Ms. Susan Carkeek, who is now the senior advisor to the president for human resources at Virginia Commonwealth University.



Susan has more than 30 years of experience human resources management in higher education sector. She was the first Vice President for Human Resources of the University of Virginia- the largest employer of Virginia state and vice president of human resources at the University of New Mexico for 10 years. Under her leadership, the HR department was named the most innovative human resources department in the state.

Susan is certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources by the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). She has a bachelor?s degree in business administration from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, and MBA from the University of Montana.
