Marshall 'Major' Taylor - A Legacy Picks Up Speed
You are invited to join a FREE Online Presentation about Marshall ‘Major’ Taylor, who broke the color barrier in his sport half a century before Jackie Robinson was signed to a Major League baseball team. Learn the story of the 1899 world cycling champion's remarkable life on and off the racetracks of the world at the turn of the 20th century, and how the legacy of this African American pioneer is still shaping cycling and cities today.
Our presenter will be Ms. Lynne Tolman, president of the Major Taylor Association, a nonprofit based in Marshall ‘Major’ Taylor's adopted hometown of Worcester, Massachusetts.
Registration is Open through Oct. 14 (5 PM)
