Pressure is being placed on poultry operations from environmental groups, government agencies, and neighbors to reduce aerial emissions for environmental reasons, especially on Delmarva and the Chesapeake Bay region. Join Dr. Li, Assistant Professor, Department of Animal and Food Sciences, University of Delaware, as he presents his program that focuses on mitigation of aerial emission from poultry operations and animal-environment interaction with regards to the sustainability of animal agriculture. His research program takes advantage of recent progress in dietary manipulation, vegetative environmental buffers, scrubbers, and acid-based litter amendments on ammonia mitigation, and ammonia measurement methods. Some results suggest that, in addition to mitigating emissions, improving air quality in-house can result in better production performance for growers and integrators.
There is no charge for this presentation. Seating limited to 60 people.
