Have you ever wanted to travel to Antarctica? Do you love playing in the snow? Then this lab is for you! We will look into the fascinating world of penguins, plankton, and other animals that live in Antarctica. Our speaker will be professor Debbie Steinberg, a VIMS researcher who has spent time at the U.S. Palmer Station in Antarctica for her research. Participants will see a snow-covered lab and even make their own snow! Microscopes, games, and kid's crafts will all be a part of the lab. Each table will highlight one of the topics of VIMS' Antarctic research.
These family-friendly labs are provided by the Chesapeake Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve at VIMS. There is no charge; however, registration is required due to limited space (Lab is now filled). Call 804-684-7878 for additional information.
