SWMP--the program used to monitor water quality across all 28 sites within the National Estuarine Research Reserve (NERR) system--is able to track both short and long-term changes within an estuary. SWMP data are important for coastal zone management and to numerous projects run by the Chesapeake Bay NERR program at VIMS. Join CBNERRVA Manager William Reay as he discusses the many water-quality parameters that SWMP collects, how the system operates, and why the data are important. Participants will be able to test water quality, use scientific instruments to check the accuracy of their measurements, and view water-quality measurements near their homes. Biofouling organisms will be on display under microscopes as well. {{https://forms.wm.edu/3658,Register here.}}
