Would you love to eat delicious oysters while dancing to the musical stylings of Slapnation? Then join us on October 23, 2015 to celebrate VIMS' 75th anniversary and the success of the oyster at Oystoberfest! We will also roast up some bratwurst to give the event a German theme.
For 75 years, VIMS has been the leader in marine science research. The Insitute's oyster aquaculture research has helped a once-struggling Virginia oyster industry rebound. In honor of our 75th anniversary, we are asking you to help us celebrate by supporting this special anniversary fundraising event.
VIMS' research goes beyond working with oysters. We also keep an eye on finfish, clams, scallops, crabs, seagrasses, water quality and many other areas of marine research that benefits Virginia, Chesapeake Bay, and beyond!
Gifts to the Virginia Institute of Marine Science Foundation for this event will benefit our research, education, and advisory service programs at VIMS. The event will take place rain or shine on VIMS' Gloucester Point Campus.
We have a limited number of support levels for this event. Get your name on the list early as only 250 tickets will be available. Dress for the event is casual. Parking is free. A registration list of ticket holders will be kept at the door. ID required for admission.
