Sea turtles are among Earth?s most ancient creatures. Yet six of the seven existing species are threatened or endangered?mostly due to human activities. Sea turtles accidentally tangle in fishing gear, suffer strikes by boat propellers, and lose nesting and feeding grounds to coastal development. In this lab, participants will solve the case of the stranded sea turtle, cycling through different investigations to determine what happened. VIMS graduate student Bianca Santos will explain how her lab is using dead ?Frankenturtles? to help save the ones that are still living!
