October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Women's Law Society, in partnership with SBA, is pleased to welcome Here for the Girls (H4TG) and Cassi Fritzius to discuss their experiences, H4TG's work, and the upcoming Run for the Hills charity 5k on 10/17. This is a favorite WLS lunch event, and we look forward to bringing students together to hear from these incredible speakers!

Women's Law is proud to partner with Here for the Girls again to support their mission by encouraging law students to sign-up for the W&M Law team participating in the Run for the Hills virtual 5k event on 10/17/2020. H4TG has generously provided us with a student discount for registration that will be shared with those interested. Here for the Girls (H4TG) is a not-for-profit improving the lives of young women affected by breast cancer. We do this by offering in-person support groups led by trained facilitators, various no-cost activities and events throughout the year, and robust virtual support.

Breast cancer’s negative impact on quality of life is significantly greater in younger women and for a longer time. Our special brand of loving, peer-based social and emotional support that improves the emotional well-being of our young women (diagnosed under 51) from diagnosis, through treatment, and beyond so no young woman has to make this journey without all the love, encouragement, and knowledge she needs from peers who understand. Through our support services, H4TG strengthens individuals, families, and, ultimately, communities.
