In anticipation of his visit on October 10, Prof. Kevin Vose will introduce the present Dalai Lama's life and work, as well as the religious and political history of the Dalai Lamas of Tibet.

What is a Dalai Lama? What does the Dalai Lama do? Why is he an exile? Why is he beloved in Tibet and the west, but not so much in the People's Republic of China? We will discuss all this and more.

A lengthy question-and-answer session will follow.

Sponsored by the Department of Religious Studies and the International Relations Club.
