Dr. Van Meter has been a visiting professor in the biology department since 2012. Dr. Van Meter employs multiple molecular techniques, including chromatin immuno-precipitation, high-throughput sequencing, qPCR, microarrays, and functional genomics studies with RNAi to address questions surrounding normal and aberrant brain development. His talk will incorporate research findings relating to chromatin modifiers discovered in human pediatric brain cancers, and will specifically showcase the projects W&M students are working on in the lab and their preliminary findings from human disease and zebrafish development.
