William & Mary Theatre is pleased to announce its production of The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, written by Simon Stephens and directed by Omiyemi (Artisia) Green.

The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time comes to life through the written words of 15-year-old Christopher Boone, a neurodivergent teenager. The play opens seven minutes after midnight with Christopher’s discovery that his neighbor’s dog, Wellington, has been murdered. His curiosity about Wellington’s murder evolves into a deeper exploration of family secrets, leading Christopher on a journey from Swindon to London in search of the truth.

The novel upon which the play was based was written by Mark Haddon, someone who admittedly did no research on autism. Thus, unfortunately, there may be stereotypical attributes of autism written into the play.
