Title: Promise and Difficulties for Lattice Field Theory on Spherical Manifolds

Abstract: Lattice field theory in flat Euclidean space (such as Lattice QCD) give rigorous and increasingly accurate non-perturbative predictions. However field theory on curved manifolds, which are important for investigating conformal field theories, strong gravitational fields and condensed matter, present new difficulties. In particular Lattice Radial Quantization on R x Sphere is proposed as nonperturbative method especially suited to numerically solve Euclidean conformal field theories. Since no uniform lattice can be placed on a sphere, a synthesis of methods from classical Finite Element methods and Regge field theory is explored to control both the IR and UV in the continuum limit. As a test case the 2D Ising (or Wilson-Fisher) critical point on Riemann Sphere will be compared with analytical results from conformal field theory. Possible extensions to fermion and gauge field for Beyond Standard Model 4D gauge theories will be discussed.
