MapReduce has been the foundation of large-scale data processing since being published in 2004. However, what if you can't wait for a batch process to complete to process your data? What if you need to measure latency in seconds, not minutes to hours? In this talk, I'll explain Google's solution to this problem and how it compares to other solutions. We'll discuss how Google handles the challenges inherent in processing data in real-time at Google scale. We'll also discuss Google culture and the life of an engineer, and I'll take any and all questions.
