[PAST EVENT] E-Verify Demonstration

The 2010 General Assembly enacted legislation requiring state agencies to use E-Verify for new hires beginning December 2, 2012. Governor McDonnell officially ordered all executive branch state agencies to implement the E-Verify system for all new hires by June 1, 2011, a full 18 months ahead of the legislated deadline.
We are very excited to announce that in order to assist with this mandate the College will begin using an online system, Talx, as of January 1, 2012, to assist all of us with this additional employment eligibility requirement.
This new system will allow us to complete a Form I-9 online providing an automatic integration with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) E-Verify system. The benefits to both the new hire and to you are:
*You and the new hires will get feedback while you fill out the form. If you make a mistake, you'll know immediately.
*New hires can start filling out Section 1 of their I-9 forms before they even come into the office, and you don't have to wait for their employment forms to start filling out the rest.
*Pre-populating data fields will remember relevant employee information, making subsequent paperwork easier and less tedious, without jeopardizing the security of sensitive information.
