Abstract: We will discuss the patent process, including patent laws and the recent patent reform bill enacted by Congress (the America Invents Act of 2011). Case studies will be presented, with analysis of decision points along the way. We will also discuss the impact of the America Invents Act, changes at the USPTO and recent Supreme Court decisions.
