Join us for a talk with David Baugh: Thursday, October 5th at 1:00 PM, in classroom 127. The son of a Tuskegee Airman, Baugh is a criminal trial lawyer in Richmond, Virginia. As a defense attorney, he has represented U.S. Embassy bomber Mohammad al-Owhali, and Ku Klux Klan Grand Dragon Barry Elton Black (for which the American Bar Association named him a "Civil Rights Hero").
With more than 35 years of criminal practice in state and federal courts, Baugh has served as an Assistant United States Attorney in both Texas and Virginia, and more recently as a Capital Defender for central Virginia representing indigent clients facing the death penalty. He has been president of the Virginia Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the Richmond Criminal Bar Association, and is a former ACLU of Virginia board member. In 2006 Baugh received the Virginia State Bar's prestigious Lewis F. Powell, Jr. Pro Bono Award.
