Robert Fatton, Associate Dean for Graduate Programs in Arts and Sciences and the Julia Cooper Professor of Government and Foreign Affairs at the University of Virginia will discuss Haiti in the aftermath of the 2010 earthquake. Fatton was born and raised in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Notre Dame and has been teaching at the University of Virginia since 1981. The event, co-sponsored by the program in Africana Studies; the Departments of Government, History, International Relations, and Sociology; and the Reves Center for International Studies, is free and open to the public.
