Shatema Threadcraft

Shatema Threadcraft is Associate Professor of Government at Dartmouth College and the 2017-18 Ralph E. and Doris M. Hannsmann Scholar at the Institute for Advanced Study at Princeton University. Her recent book, Intimate Justice: The Black Female Body and the Body Politic (Oxford University Press, 2016), received the American Political Science Association’s award for the best book on race, ethnicity, and politics and the National Women's Studies Association's Sara A. Whaley Award for the best book on women and labor.  Her new project, from which this talk is taken, is on race, gender, and the politics of death in the United States.
