The election of right-wing populist Jair Bolsonaro represents a dramatic shift in Brazilian politics. Prof. Migliavacca will address the current state of democracy in Brazil, the imprisonment of former president Lula, the constitutional coup of 2016, and the erosion of human rights and environmental legislation in current day Brazil.
