Chancellors Hall (formerly Tyler Hall), Zoom300 James Blair Dr

Over the past couple of weeks, three verdicts in high-profile cases speak to the complexity of prosecuting acts of racial violence in the United States. The acquittal of Kyle Rittenhouse in the shooting of three men during the Jacob Blake police brutality protests, the conviction of three men of the murder of Ahmaud Arbery, and the finding of liability of the organizers of the Unite the Right Rally under the Ku Klux Klan Act occurred in quick succession. Please join Professors Jackson Sasser, Chris Nemacheck, and Claire McKinney for a conversation to take a moment to reflect on the law, criminal and civil prosecution of violence, and the complexities of self-defense in the context of ongoing racial violence. Via Zoom.
